The Inbox collects everything that needs your attention, grouped into conversations.
What lands here
Section titled “What lands here”- Mentions: someone wrote
@youin a comment or a project chat. - Assigned: an item was assigned to you.
- Comments and status changes on items you own or reported.
- Unblocked: what blocked one of your items is done.
- Due dates: the day before an item of yours is due, from 08:00.
- Automations: an automation created a project you lead.
- Questions from workflows: a workflow asks you a yes/no question. Answer with Yes or No right in the inbox; the workflow goes on at once. See Ask a person.
- Access requests and support requests, for people who manage members.
- Direct messages from people in your workspace.
- Project chats for the projects you are in, under Projects.
Choose which of these also come by email under Notifications.
Work through it
Section titled “Work through it”- Filter by All, Unread or Mentions. Projects shows your project chats. See Project chat.
- Reply right in the inbox. A reply to a mention is posted as a comment on the item.
- Snooze hides a conversation until tomorrow at 08:00.
- Archive moves a conversation, chat included, to the folded Archived list at the bottom. It is archived for you only, and comes back by itself when something new arrives or you write in it. Open an archived one to read it again, or Restore it. Pin to top keeps a conversation in view.
- Nothing opens by itself: click a conversation to open it. Switching tabs only changes the list; the open conversation stays until you open another.
- Right-click a conversation to Mark as unread, also the one you have open. It stays unread until you open it again.
- Mark all as read when you are caught up.
The notification bell
Section titled “The notification bell”The bell at the top of the sidebar, next to the workspace name, shows your latest notifications without leaving the page. The number on it counts unread notifications; messages and project chats are counted on Inbox only.
- Click the bell to open the list. All shows the latest 30, Unread only those you have not read.
- Click a notification to open its item (or the project chat it came from). It is marked as read.
- Point at a notification and click × (Remove) to take it off the list. It moves to Archived in the Inbox, where you can restore it.
- Right-click a notification for more: Open item (the item itself), Open in inbox (the notice in the Inbox, where you can reply), Mark as read or Mark as unread, Snooze (back tomorrow at 08:00, as unread) and Archive.
- The tick at the top right is Mark all as read. It reads your notifications and leaves your messages as they are.
- Open inbox at the bottom takes you to the full Inbox, where you can reply, snooze and archive.
When the sidebar is hidden, the bell sits on the thin strip on the left, above your picture. On a phone it is at the top right, next to search.
Direct messages
Section titled “Direct messages”Click New message, or right-click a person and choose Message, to write to someone. Enter sends and Shift Enter makes a new line. You can attach files and add emoji. Deleting a message removes it for both of you.
The star at the top of a chat (or Add to favorites in the conversation’s right-click menu) puts the person in the sidebar’s Favorites, so their chat is one click away.
Access and support requests
Section titled “Access and support requests”When someone asks for more access, or WORK³ support asks for temporary access, the request shows here with Approve and Decline. See Support access.
