Statuses, types, priorities and tags
Settings → Labels (a tab on the General page) holds the words your workspace uses to describe work. They are shared by every project. Changing them needs the Change statuses, types and priorities permission (tags only need Create and edit items).
Statuses
Section titled “Statuses”Statuses are the steps an item goes through, in board order. Drag to reorder, and add one with New status at the bottom of the list. Each status counts as one of these:
| Counts as | Means |
|---|---|
| None | Open; says nothing more |
| Backlog | Open, not planned yet |
| To do | Planned, not started; shows on Home |
| In progress | Someone is working on it; shows on Home |
| Done | Finished; closes the item |
| Canceled | Dropped; closes the item |
A status in use cannot be deleted; move its items first. There must always be at least one status.
The kinds of items you work with, such as task, bug and epic. Click a type to rename it or change its color and icon. Milestones are added on a project’s overview, not as a type.
Priorities
Section titled “Priorities”Highest first. Drag to change the order; items without a priority sort last.
Free labels shared by every project, used on items and on projects themselves. They are also created when someone types a new one on an item or a project. Click a tag to rename it, recolor it or delete it.
Colors and icons
Section titled “Colors and icons”Every status, type, priority and tag can have its own color, and statuses can color their board column. Click it to change its look.
